Thank You
Thank you to the VMEPC for the many hours spent planning the Carnival. Thanks also for providing FLIP cameras to teachers for use in the classroom.
Thank you to Bill Bishop for funding the Rock in Prevention Program.

Boxtops for Education
Van Meter Elementary just received a check for $1,591.20 from Boxtops for Education. Thank you to all the parents that sent in Boxtops and to the volunteers who counted them. Thank you to Keri Kenoyer for coordinating this program. This money is used to provide some of the great programs we present every year.

Attendance at Elementary Concerts
Students must be here for at least ½ day to attend a concert or evening activity. If students are too ill to attend school, they should not attend after-school or evening programs.

Staying Inside
Students are not allowed to stay inside during noon/afternoon recess without a note from a doctor or permission from Julie Leetch.

Beginning of Day and End of Day Pick-up
Students should not be here before 8:00 am. Students who are waiting for parents to pick them up at the end of the day should remain seated in the cafeteria.

After School
Students should not remain in the elementary after school waiting for older siblings or to attend games. We do not have supervisors available and elementary students should not be wandering unsupervised around the building.

Healthy Snacks
Since many children eat treats over the holiday break, please help children get back into a healthy eating routine by sending fresh fruit, veggies & dip, trail mix (without nuts), cheese and crackers or granola bars for snacks. Do not send donuts or items high in fat or sugar for classroom snacks.

Attendance is VERY IMPORTANT.
Research shows that attendance and achievement are directly connected. Please plan vacations during Spring Break. Please stress the importance of good attendance to children.
